Body found on New Smyrna Beach in search for missing teen
NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — A body has been found on New Smyrna Beach near the area where a 14-year-old boy disappeared after being pulled under the rough surf, according to Volusia County Fire Rescue.
Rescue crews began searching again Monday after the rough surf pulled the 14-year-old Orlando boy under the water while he was swimming with family and friends on Sunday.
"They had just put on sun tan lotion. Maybe 10, 15 minutes they were out there," said an unidentified family member.
During that short swim, the boy went under and didn't come back up.
He was swimming with a friend, who had to be rescued.
